Should You Sell Now or Wait Till Spring?

by: Jeff Quintin, on February 15, 2021 - Home Seller Tips

Should you sell now or wait until the spring?

Traditionally, many homeowners pull their homes off the market until after winter. In January, inventory can increase by as much as 20% or 25%, and that trend typically continues through the spring selling season. So if you decide to list your home on the market in the spring, understand that your competition is going to be much higher, since everyone else has the same idea.

Jump ahead of the competition and get your home on the market sooner

rather than later.

In general, it’s better to put your home on the market when inventory is at its lowest and demand is at its highest. Certainly, in the spring market, inventory and demand will both rise, but again, since there are more sellers on the market, you’ll have to work much harder to draw buyers to your specific home.

Overall, there’s a shortage of inventory in our market, and we don’t know what’s going to happen in the spring, what with the new presidential administration coming in, as well as other factors.

So if you’re thinking about selling your home, let’s jump ahead of the competition and get your home on the market sooner rather than later. For any questions you have about selling your home, don’t hesitate to reach out to us. We’d love to help you.
